Success Starts in the Mind

success mindThank you for visiting my space here on the internet!  I hope I can be a resource for you in reaching your goals and becoming a success!  Success begins with you, and is a product of the mind!  Learn to start using your mind correctly, and opportunities will start to open up all around you!

What to do when the rhino really charges you…

Don’t go to the zoo!

What… rhino? The zoo?

Yes! Let me explain…

First, I can’t take credit for this analogy. I give that to Guy Finley.

Second, what we’re talking about here is your mind and getting
started with some aspect of your marketing.

That rhino is your self-doubting subconscious.

When you want to do something new to take action, that rhino
appears a lot and says “You can’t do that.” “Why
bother?” “You’re not smart enough” “What do
you know?” or something along those lines.

Really?

I know you can relate to this. It happens every day in your head,
multiple times even.

That zoo is made up of every excuse in the book that rhino is
feeding you.

But how do you not go to the zoo? That zoo just keeps throwing
them at you.

You don’t have to listen to it. Actually, there are 4 words
you say to yourself to cut it off.

These 4 words are pretty powerful and can be applied outside of
your marketing.

Here are those 4 powerful words…

“But I can learn.”

Your rhino appears and the zoo of excuses says…

“You don’t know how to setup a squeeze page”… But I
can learn.

“You can’t possibly get leads every single day”…
But I can learn.

“What’s this PPC stuff? You know nothing about it”…
But I can learn.

“Blogging? Seriously?”… But I can learn!

You know what? You’re RIGHT!

You can learn. And you should learn.

It’ll make a huge difference in your marketing. You can’t
learn everything at once, but you need to start somewhere.

How about starting with some targeted traffic generation, and
getting leads from YouTube?

It’s not that difficult. It takes some know how, but guess
what?

You can learn.

A good friend of mine is putting on a YouTube PPC training webinar
tomorrow night @9pm EST. If I were you, I would not pass this up.

Rich is a master at getting cheap targeted leads from YouTube PPC.

You’ll also learn about what other training could be available
to you, should you want to further your marketing education and
learn even more strategies.

Register by clicking the link below:

Register today!

Also, there will be no rhinos there throwing the zoo at you.

In fact, I think Rich will do a good job of keeping that rhino at
bay.

You can do this, you can learn!

Make it a great day in your marketing.

P.S. – Spaces are limited and this webinar has grown in popularity,
so make sure you get your spot now. This will be recorded, but I
can’t get you a replay unless you’re registered, so make
sure to do it today.

Coffee Grounds Get Focused…

This morning I was cleaning out my Keurig coffee filter in the
kitchen sink.

Those K-cups are expensive, so I found one of these reusable
filters.  The thing is great, any coffee I want to have I can brew.

Well, this filter has a very fine screen and I use the faucets pull
out sprayer to get the fine grounds out.

There happened to be  a bowl of water in the sink below and the
grounds were falling into it.

The sprayer I have has some pretty good power behind it, and the
angle I was using started pushing the water in the bowl, making  a
whirlpool.

All of those coffee grounds that fell in were now being brought to
the bottom center of the bowl to make one concentrated dot.

Focus.

I’m telling you this because we all get focused for a little
while and then fall out of it.  Not all of us fall out of it, but a
lot of us do, and it happens to me as well.

When you need to get something done, stay in the whirlpool.

Get that email out.

Finish your squeeze page.

Post an ad.

Talk to a prospect.

Make a new blog post.

Do something to keep on track with your goal.

Stay in that whirlpool of focus my friend.

A good place to start is with others who are also in that whirlpool
to keep you there.  Head on over to the registration link below for a free webinar on Thursday.

If you’re ever off track and on the outer edges of the whirlpool with your marketing, we’ll suck you back in to focus.

Make it a great day in your marketing,

The Madness continues…

The Madness???

Yes, the madness.  As in March Madness, but let me explain
something here.

I can see that people get excited about it.  It’s something in
between the seasons of the NFL and MLB.

What I don’t get is the actual height of craziness and energy
that people put into it.

They get down right crazy… ie yelling, throwing things, taunting
fans of the other teams if at a bar or even their friends, getting
fall down drunk and depressed when the team pick loses, or being on
cloud 9 when their team wins for the night.

Why put so much energy into something that really will not better
your own life?

Why not channel that energy for yourself?

The same goes with celebrity gossip, OMG Kim Kardashian, what’s
she doing?  Honestly, who cares.

There are people more into celebrities lives than what’s going
on in their own kids lives.

I took time out yesterday for what was supposed to be a 90 minute
webinar on html coding, which I know, but it also included css
style sheets, which I didn’t know.

I spent $97 to be on this webinar.  But, I wanted to learn the css
styling.

This webinar turned out to be almost 3 hours.  The presenter Jim Y,
who lives in Jordan was basically presenting from 10pm-1am ( I
think that’s right, maybe even 11-2).

This guy wanted us to learn.  He channeled his energy and expertise
to his group.  He stayed and answered every question asked.

Most of the attendees stayed for the full 3 hours.

Why?

We were there to learn to better our lives and better ourselves,
and improve skills to apply in our marketing.

You can take a peek into the lives of others around you, but if
it’s not going to do you any good then don’t get so
captivated by it that it sucks you dry, and keeps you in the same
old mundane day in, day out life.

Look at those around you doing what you want to do.  Don’ know
any?

I’ve found plenty now, and plan on finding more.

If you’ve been looking, take an hour of your time to learn what
you can be doing with your time instead of reading about others
living the life you want to live.

Join me tonight @9PM EST

Have a great day, and may your Madness consume your marketing.

Activating your creative brain

Most of us remain stagnant because we don’t stimulate our
brains.

We kill our brains with the tv, video games, and spending countless
(useless) hours online finding out what Susie had for breakfast and
that Joe just bought stick.

Seriously, this kills your brain.

My tv burned out to a beautiful green screen the other week and I
haven’t replaced it, and to tell you the truth, I don’t
miss it!  I may not replace it.  It kept me from things I
should’ve been doing and as I mentioned it kills your brain.

I’m going to give you a couple of exercises today for your
brain.  Try them out, and then do them daily.  Your brain will get
bet better, you’ll start remembering, and your sleep will
improve.

These will seem out of the ordinary, but the guy that I learned
this from is ridiculous with what he can do now since employing
these exercises.

He trained himself to be ambidextrous in both tennis and golf.
Yup, he can play and beat most people with his non-dominant hand.

He became a scratch golfer after 2 years, which is not normal.
Many people play their whole life and never get close to that.

Anyway, exercise number 1, learn the alphabet backwards.  Most
people can’t do it.  After learning it backwards, learn it from
the outside in (a,z,b,y,c,x,d,w…)

You’ll be making your brain think.  It may actually hurt a
little bit, it did for me.

Exercise 2:  Start writing with your non-dominant hand every day in
cursive.  Get a journal and write.

You many have to look up the letters because most people forgot how
to write in cursive and they don’t teach it anymore in the
schools…such a shame.  Not only should you write with your
opposite hand, write mirror image backwards.  That will twist your
brain.

DaVinci and Ben Franklin could do it, so can you.  Look at how
talented they were.  I can do it now, but still improving on it.

Exercise 3 is for hand-eye coordination.  Bounce a golf ball off of
a 1lb rubber mallet.  Practice this with both hands.  I
couldn’t get more than 5 in a row when I first started with my
right hand, now I’m over 700.  My left hand I couldn’t do
more than once.  Now I’m over 500.

Your forearms will be on fire, but you’ll be growing your brain
with all 3 exercises.

I can recite the powers of 2 up to the 30th power.  That’s over
1 billion.  You can try that too.

In the alphabet it’s important to make images when trying to
remember.  For one thing it’ll help you remember better and 2
it’ll stimulate your creativity.  ZYX – Zebra was playing a
Yellow Xylophone, etc.

Have fun with it.  You may struggle at first, but as with anything
else I’ve told you, it gets easier as you keep at it.

Make it a great day and grow your mind!

Duped on Fees

I just read this article prior to seeing my emails this morning
that the Metropolitan Museum of Art has been “duping”
visitors into paying fees.

Did you see this?

The ticket window before you can get in says $25 admission and in
fine print under that says “Recommended”.

Yikes.

If you don’t question what does ‘recommended’ mean, the
ticket window employee will tell you pay $25 for admission.

How about that?  That, in my opinion, isn’t right.

You can get in without paying anything, or just paying one cent.
It’s a donation.

Many people pay the full $25 because they don’t question,
especially foreigners.

If something doesn’t seem right, ask about it.

If you want to know something more, just ask.

You’ll be surprised at what you’ll find out or learn.
People love to talk about themselves and what they do.  You can
pick up some great information that way and learn something you
didn’t know before.

I’ve done it.

Heck, I asked an 11 year old this past Saturday about watches.

He had this gargantuan watch on, so I asked him about it.

He pulled out his phone and showed me his collection of watches.  I
was impressed.

We talked for about 15 minutes about it.  He has more watches than
I do and more expensive ones, but I was intrigued that this kid
knew so much about watches. He has a Breitling, a Rolex (obviously
gifts), and others, but he is so knowledgeable.

Anyway, I just want you to start asking questions.  You’ll get
answers, but the key is to ASK!

http://www.jdsuccess.com/freewebinar

Your answers will come, but you need to ask FIRST.

Make it a great day in marketing

Scattered Ducks

I’m a little behind with getting this email out.

In fact, I didn’t know what I was going to write about this
morning, but I had to leave pretty early today.

I was helping with a delivery 40 minutes away because I have the
needed skills for this sort of thing.

Well, I was 5 minutes late getting there and there was no truck to
meet me.

I waited for 20 minutes.  I called the contact person on site,
Cecilia.

She was just getting in, but expecting this truck to be there too.

I met with Cecilia and she invited me into this new pharma company
to wait.

I was offered a coffee, and I took it, especially after seeing it
was Caribou.  I really like that coffee.

Forty-five minutes gone by since I arrived, coffee half gone and I
make a call to the company in charge of the delivery.  They are yet
to be open since it’s not 9am.

To shorten this story a little bit, I was called back and told the
truck was in route by dispatch, I called the truck, and he was at
another delivery without a time even written down next to my name
for this delivery!

Scattered ducks.  Cecilia wasn’t happy, I wasn’t happy, the
company wasn’t happy.  2.5 hours later, and no truck, I was
done.  Very nice hospitality though from Cecilia and the other
employees.

I illustrate this so you don’t get scattered with your
marketing.

Don’t try to email others without having an optin.  You
can’t have an offer without a website to put it on.  You
can’t have others join you if you don’t show some
leadership.

Get all your ducks in a row.

1. Get a domain
2. Get hosting
3. Have a niche (defined group of people) to market to
4. Have a USP (unique selling proposition
5. Have an offer with an email optin
6. Drive traffic to your optin/website (both free and paid)
7. Keep in touch with your optin prospects/leads with information,
value, tips, stories, etc
8. Follow up
9. Follow up
10. Follow up

(This is kind of like location, location, location in real estate)

These can seem complicated and they will at first, but you can
learn and learn fast with a supportive community behind you.

That community is Ann Sieg’s Daily Marketing Coach+.
You’ve already read her books (I hope).  How would you like to
directly ask Ann a question for guidance?  You can.  She’s very
active with all of her students.

Need an answer in minutes, post it in the team page and you’ll
get it.

Personally, this is the best bang for your buck regarding online
marketing training.

If you want to start right now, you can try for $0.33/day for a
month.  Yup, less than $10.

Go through the “Getting Started” videos, get your presence setup and online.

Ask as many questions you would like, get constructive criticism and
guidance with your site, your offer, your target market, and whatever
else you need help to get done.

Training and the supportive community for $10.

Learn to grow your business online, and get it done right… with
structure.

http://www.jdsuccess.com/dmc995trial

I’ve asked for you to ask me what you need help with in prior emails.

Now is your chance to ask many other marketers who were once sitting
right where you are right now.

Hocus Focus

Yup, not Hocus Pocus, but Hocus Focus.

There is no magic to this marketing online thing.  No smoke and
mirrors, no trap doors, no illusions.

Some of the big boys may want to throw you some of that stuff to
keep you buying.

I want you to stay focused.

I want you to get started and gaining momentum.

I think I can, I think I can… Focus. Focus. Focus… I think I
can, I think I can… Focus. Focus. Focus.

Pick an area you need to get going on or improving on and stick
with it for an hour.  It’ll get easier

I mentioned Stan Billue in a previous email about doing one thing
for an hour every day, and you will become a master of that thing
in a short amount of time.

I can’t do it for you, but I can offer support, or guidance, or
keep you on track.

I just started this an accountability with my good friend Jon
Cawley, who is building his site and working on his marketing every
day.  Young guy in his early 20’s, but he gets it.

He sends me a text every day now asking “What did you get done
today in your marketing?”  I love it, it helps keep me
focused.  I send him the same text.

So I’m asking this morning, what will you get done today in
your marketing?  Blog post? Email sent? Domain bought?  Ad placed?
Blog commenting?

This is part of what we do in Daily Marketing Coach program.
Actually, we have a pretty good webinar on Marketing using LinkedIn
this Thursday.  LinkedIn is the leading business social platform
currently.

Sign up today as the number of registrants is limited.

http://jdsuccess.com/freewebinar

You may want to make LinkedIn marketing your 1 hour a day focus
after attending.

Make it a great day, and remember to work on some aspect of your
marketing.
